The Serpent's Thesis 2003-08-05 5:30 pm We have entered the aspect of the serpent's cycle in which it proceeds to panic, whine, and complain about its upcoming Masters thesis, and how, despite the fact that it has two working research ideas for a Doctoral Dissertaion (one of which is proving to be an Imperial pain in the ass), it lacks a thesis for RIGHT FUCKING NOW. that is what far too much foresight does to you, and emulation of the serpent is, in this regard, not recommended. So, in order to preoccupy myself (i'm done using 3rd person self-reference for now)and keep from miring even further into the stygian murk of academic self-loathing, self-doubt, and boarderline blithering-idiot hysteria, i've been comforting myself with sci-fi novels that are far too long for their own good (Otherland), live soccer games (Juventus vs Milan), and cute B-movies (carnival of souls). today i spent most of my time at work amusing myself with the well documented (and beautifully prepared) paranoid accounts of an elderly gentleman. He came to me to drop off a packet he claimed is an account of human rights abuses againt his person. Being my naturally inquisitive self (doesn't take much to tempt a serpent- especially concerning things he's not supposed to read), i read it and ended up doing a service for the Consul General, by not having his time wasted. It did however, keep me entertained for a while. It was farily straightforward as paranoid delusions go: imagenary neighbors spying on him with high-tech equipment, the government and local law enforement (for whom meineke does covert ops- mind you)abusing and tormeneting him, hellbent on keeping him out of work. Anyway, i suppose i wouldn't make a very good mental health specialist... Sign My Guestbook!powered by SignMyGuestbook.com |
